Kathleen Eaton - Biography

About Kathleen Eaton

Kathleen (Kay) Eaton left a career in graphic design and marketing to focus on fine art oil painting, with an emphasis on portraits, figurative works, and landscapes. Her semi-abstract "Night Skies," "Fireflies," and "Fields of Flowers" are mesmerizing, and create thoughts of running through fields and forests, often taking you back to your childhood. She enjoys painting from life whenever possible, and has participated in plein air events across the United States. She has studied with such notable artists as Daniel Gerhartz, Everett Raymond Kinstler, C.W. Mundy, Nancy Guzik, Rose Frantzen, Romel de la Torre, Kathy Anderson, and Derek Penix. Much of Kathleen’s inspiration is drawn from 30 years of living in Michigan’s Upper Peninsula. She now resides in Arizona, where she is enjoying the new and abundant beauty of the desert and western culture.

In 2021 and 2013 she had solo exhibits at the University of Michigan Health System in Ann Arbor, MI. She was a featured artist in an exhibit at Fine Line Designs Gallery in Door County, WI (2022). Her work has been shown in a variety of exhibits, including the Best & Brightest at the Scottsdale Art School and several exhibits at the Sonoran Arts League. Her work is represented by Fine Line Designs Art Gallery in Door County (Ephraim), WI, The Finer Arts Gallery in Cave Creek, AZ, and Pinetop Gallery in Pinetop, AZ. Her paintings are housed in private and public collections throughout the United States.

Artist Statement

I paint "moments in time." Such moments are fleeting, and many memories are made in a split second. I want my work to exude the joy, love, passion, and emotion that these memories bear, so that they are forever memorialized in paint. Generations of families will view my work and see a story.
